About
I am a plant ecologist with a strong interest on how global change drivers affect evolutionary processes in plants. I combine different approaches and disciplines including, among others, population genetics and genomics, spatial statistics, ecophysiology, and network analyses. I completed my undergraduate studies and Master’s degree in Environmental Science at URJC in 2008 and 2009, respectively. I received my PhD in Natural Resources Conservation at the URJC in 2014, being awarded with the Extraordinary Doctoral Thesis Award. Subsequently, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Integrative Biology at ETH Zurich, at the Technical Particular University of Loja, Ecuador. In 2016 I was awarded a “Juan de la Cierva – Formación” Fellowship at the IMEDEA-CSIC. In 2020 I joined the group of Biological Invasions at UAH. In the year 2021 I obtained a Juan de la Cierva Incorporation contract whose objective is to consolidate the research career of outstanding young researchers. Currently, I am Lecturer in Botany in URJC. I focus my research on plant adaptation as a response to climate change, reproductive biology and ecological interactions. I apply an integrative approach that combines population genetics and genomics, spatial statistics and complex network analysis.
